Antonio R. Pacheco, 84, of Fall River, husband of the late Maria (Medeiros) Pacheco, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center. Born in Ribeira das Tainhas, St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Alfredo C. Pacheco and the late Felicidade (Resendes) Pacheco, he emigrated to Fall River in 1969.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for a number of years as a laborer in the local construction industry. A parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church, and former member of its Holy Name Society, Antonio was also a longtime member and former president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed praying the rosary.
He leaves three sons, John Pacheco (wife Natalie) of Fairhaven, Fred Pacheco (wife Ana) of Dartmouth, and Michael Pacheco (wife Amy) of Fall River; and was the father of the late Manuel Pacheco (wife Sheilah of Swansea), the late Anthony Pacheco, and the late Benny Pacheco. Antonio is survived by four siblings, Manuel Pacheco (wife Maria) of Somerset, Maria da Gloria De Jesus (late husband Herman) of Rumford, RI, Fatima DeMello (late husband Antonio) of Montreal, Canada, and Eduardo Pacheco (wife Eduarda) of Fall River; and was the brother of the late Alfredo Pacheco (wife Alda of N. Dighton) and Anna Fernandes (husband Fernando of Fall River). He is also survived by: nine grandchildren, Elaine Canary-Bracci, Joshua Pacheco, Amanda Pacheco, Kayla Bernardo, Sylvia Pacheco, Samantha Moniz, Brittany Pacheco, John Pacheco, and Benjamin Pacheco; five great grandchildren, A.J. Moniz, Amora Moniz, Areeyah Moniz, Alivia Moniz, and Aubrey-Maria Pacheco; and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, March 7th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
