Antonio M. Resendes, 75, of Fall River, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 at home peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria Resendes, to whom he had been married for 32 years. A resident of the city for 49 years, he was born in Agua Retorta, Sao Miguel, Azores. He was a son of the late Antonio and Adelina Resendes. He leaves behind his five children: Luisa Edwards and her husband Keith of Westport; Margarida Abat and her husband Todd of Fall River; Antonio Resendes and his wife Rachel of Fall River; Lucia Resendes of Fall River; and Filomena Resendes Lopes and her husband Luis of Fall River. He also leaves behind his nine grandchildren: Jordan Abat, Kayla Cabral, Karyssa Edwards, Keith Edwards, Kyle Cabral, Sarah Edwards, Dakota Valente, Trent Resendes, and Troy Resendes. In addition, he also leaves two siblings: Luis Resendes and Conceicao Casimiro; along with several nieces and nephews. He was the Husband of the late Irene Resendes, and brother to the late Luzia Resendes. Prior to his retirement, he was a machine operator for the Plymouth Rubber Company, in Canton, MA. He will be missed by his friends at the Don Carlos Club, where he had been a member for over 40 years. He loved to spend time with his family; especially his grandchildren. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, March 23rd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
