Obituary

Antonio M. Silva, 69, of Westport, husband of Natalia (Mota) Silva, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2024 following a long illness. Born in Rabo de Peixe, Sao Miguel, Acores, he was a son of the late Jose T. Silva and the late Silvina (Martins) Silva.

Prior to his retirement, he was owner and operator of Tony's Harbour Variety for many years. A "jack of all" trades, he also possessed a knack for improvising and many times inventing ideas to accomplish his tasks at hand. He loved gardening, woodworking, working with his John Deere tractor on his property, and spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren who were all the "light of his life". Most notably, Tony was a devoted husband, father, and Vavo who was very much loved and will be always remembered with great fondness.

Besides his loving wife of forty-eight years, he leaves his children, Stacy Silva-Boutwell and her husband, Brian, of Westport, Lindsey DeAndrade and her husband, John, of Tiverton,  Victoria Pinkham and her husband, Mark, and Sean Silva, both of Westport; his six grandchildren, Lucas Silva-Boutwell, Alaina Silva-Boutwell, Hazel DeAndrade, Cameron Pinkham, Jackson Pinkham, and Alexander Pinkham; his sisters, Judy Tavares, and her husband, Paul, Gabriela Massa and her husband, Olympio, both of Somerset, Sylvia LePage and her husband, Michael, of Tiverton, Dora Treacy and her husband, John, of Warren, Tina Silva and her husband, Tony, of Portsmouth, and Dottie St. Gelais, of East Freetown; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Jose Silva and the late Isaltina Silva.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, September 30th, in Our Lady of Grace Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
