Antonio V. Sousa, 86, of Fall River, died on April 12, 2008 after a brief illness and was surrounded by his loved ones. He was the husband of Rose (Amaral) Sousa, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Born in St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Manuel V. & Rose C. (Moniz) Souza. A Fall River resident since 1950, he worked in construction and belonged to the Holy Name Society. Survivors include sons, Anthony W. Sousa (wife Nancy) of Fall River, Joseph Sousa (wife Elaine) of Swansea, brother, Angelo Sousa of California, sisters, Grace Ponte and Mary Inacio, both of Canada and Esmera Sousa of St. Michael, Azores, granddaughter, Erica Barboza (husband Michael) of Swansea and many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Manuel, Jose & Serafim Sousa. His funeral Mass was celebrated in Holy Rosary Church. Pallbearers were Michael Barboza, Mark Gendreau, Mark Gendreau, Jr. Steven Gendreau, Ray Medeiros and Albert Sousa. Committal service was held at St. Patrick Cemetery.
