Antonio Torres, 82, of Fall River, passed away on Monday. Husband of Dorothea (Ponte) Torres, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Aqua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Antonio Resendes and Maria Isabel (Pimentel) Torres. An avid fisherman, it brought him joy to share his catch with everyone. Survivors include a son, Antonio M. Torres (wife - Laurina) of Westport; a daughter, Clotilde Cabral (husband - Paul) of Fall River; brothers, Luis Torres and Joseph Torres, both of Fall River; sisters, Madalene DoMonte of Fall River, Isabel Resendes of Somerset and Antonieta Overlock of Taunton; grandchildren, Paul Jr., Jennifer and Meghan; great grandchildren, Athena and Dennis Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Alfred Torres and Margarida Resendes. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, March 8, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at Oak Grove Cemetery.
