Arlene Marie (Souto) Mattos, 85, of Somerset, widow of Frank V. Mattos, passed away at home on Saturday, December 11, 2021, after an illness. Born in Fall River, formerly of Orange Street, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Andrade Souto and the late Mary F. (Damos) Souto. She resided in Somerset most of her life.

After owning Arlene's Beauty Salon in Fall River for 15-20 years, Arlene then moved to Somerset in the early 1970s and started Arlene's Beauty Cottage on 108 County Street in Somerset which she ran until her retirement.

She is survived by: two sons, Frank M. Mattos and David Mattos both of Somerset; a sister, Nancy Gorman of Venice, Florida; four grandchildren, Nicolas, Evan, Jada, and Courtney Mattos; and several nieces and nephews.

Following a private cremation, Her Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, December 21st, during a visitation period in our Somerset Chapel. Her cremains were later buried in her family lot at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
