Obituary

Armand Amaral, 82, of Fall River, husband of Sophie [Rego] Amaral passed away at St. Anne's Hospital on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Armand Amaral, Sr., and Agnes "Irene" [Perreira] Amaral.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he served as an Artillery Communications Specialist. He went on to serve in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, where he attained the rank of Sergeant [E5].
Over his career, Armand worked as a presser for Slade Laundry, a deliveryman for Hood Dairy and an insurance salesman for 31 years with The Prudential Insurance Company.
A lifelong Red Sox fan and an avid golfer, Armand was a member of the Rehoboth Country Club men's golf league.
Besides his wife of 35 years, Armand is survived by three children from his first marriage to the late Rita [Barros]: Allan Amaral, Debra [Amaral] Bridge and Jeffrey Amaral; two step-children, Susan Tavares and Bruce A. Tavares, six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated and his ashes were buried at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
