Armanda S. (Almeida) Tavares, 83, wife of the late Edmundo Tavares, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Fall River Health Care after a long illness.

Born in Sao Vicente Ferreira, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Joao Cabral Cosme and the late Maria de Lourdes Almeida.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a sewing machine operator in the local garment industry for many years. She loved cooking, sewing, shopping and watching her Portuguese soap operas. As a devout Catholic, Armanda faithfully attended Mass and prayed the rosary daily.

She leaves: her four sons, Gabriel Tavares, Joseph Tavares and his wife, Dawn, Paulo Tavares and his wife, Lisa, and Emanuel Tavares, all of Fall River; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her Goddaughter, Dawn Domingos; and many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, September 26th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
