Armando B. Gomes, 91, husband of Angela D. (Mateus) Gomes, died Wednesday, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in the Azores, son of the late Cesario & Rita (Bettencourt) Gomes, he was employed in retail sales for many years. Raised on Terceira, he was married on Sao Miguel and moved to Angola. He immigrated to Fall River in 1969 and was a naturalized American Citizen. Father of Luis and Armando D. Gomes of Fall River, he also leaves two grandchildren, Derek and Christina Gomes, and several nieces & nephews. Funeral was held Saturday, October 6th, in St Anthony of Padua Church. Pallbearers were Jose Medeiros, Richard Medeiros, Jose Sousa, Joao Santos, Lionel Pimentel and Ricky Bielawski. Interment Notre Dame Cemetery.
