Obituary

Arnaldo Campos, 94, of Fall River, husband of Kathleen (Couture) Campos, passed away Tuesday 3/24/15 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford, with his loving family by his side. Born in Fall River, son of the late Carlos & Amalia (Antunes) Campos, he was a graduate of Diman and a lifelong resident of Fall River. For many years Arnaldo was the proprietor of Campos Market formerly of Division St, and later worked for Colonial Restaurant Equipment in his retirement. A WWII Army veteran, he fought in such campaigns as the Omaha Beach D-Day Landing and the Battle of the Bulge. A member and former Commander of VFW Post 5392 of Tiverton, he was selected as captain of Rhode Island's All-State Post Commanders Team and honored as an All-American Post Commander in 1975-76. Besides his wife, of 70 years, he leaves: 2 daughters, Judith Martin of Fall River, and Patricia Walker (husband Littleton) of Tequesta, FL; 2 siblings, Charles Campos and Eliza Rebello both of Somerset; 3 grandchildren, Amalia & Littleton Walker and Audrey Ross (husband Ryan); 4 great grandchildren, Jensen, Riley, Kalea & Marley; several nieces & nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, March 28th, in St Mary Cathedral followed by his committal with military honors at Notre Dame Cemetery.
