Arnaldo M. Sousa, 72, of Fall River, husband of the late Maria Lourdes (Dias) Sousa, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 14, 2022, after a long illness. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a son of Maria Fernanda (Martins) Sousa of Canada and the late Arnaldo Sousa, he emigrated to Fall River in the early 1970s.

Employed as a union laborer, member of Local #610, for many years with R. Zoppo Construction, of Stoughton, MA, Arnaldo also enjoyed carpentry as a hobby and was a member of the Don Carlos Club. He was a longtime parishioner, and a former collector, at St. Anthony of Padua Church.

Besides his mother, he is survived by: three siblings, Guida Domingues of Canada, Bertha Medeiros of Canada, and Florvidal Sousa of St. Michael, Azores; a grandson, Dawson P. Sousa; and several nieces, nephews, and godchildren, including his caregiver, Diamantina Fernandes. Arnaldo was also the father of the late Gary Sousa; and a brother of the late Oliver Sousa.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, October 21st, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
