Arsene Souza, 105, of Fall River, husband of the late Deolinda (Soares) Souza, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Home. Born in, and a lifelong resident of, Fall River, he was a son of the late Ernest & Anna (Pimentel) Souza.

He was employed for 26 years as a bus driver with the former S.E. MA Street Railway Co. and later worked for the Housing Authority for 10 years – retiring in the late 70s. An avid canary breeder, he won many a competition with his champion canaries.

Father of Ronald Souza (wife Dorothy) of Somerset, and the late Leonora Coutu (husband Norman, former police captain). Grandfather of Debra Crepeau (husband Bruce), Lynne Souza, and Jayne Medeiros. He also leaves a great grandson, Nicholas, and several nieces & nephews.

All of his siblings having predeceased him, he was the brother of the late Anna Bulhoes, Mamie Richards, Eva Victorinho, Ernestine Carvalho, Mary Angel Mello, Clementine Jardin, and Antone, John, Ernest, Joseph & Emily Souza.

Arsene's family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving care provided him by the Sarah Brayton Nursing Home staff, especially CNA Colleen McIntire.

His Funeral Service was be held on  Tuesday, April 4th, in our Fall River Chapel followed by a private committal.
