Arthur M. Andrade, 55, of Fall River, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Sunday. He was the husband of Goretti (Furtado) Andrade, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage. Born in Rosario, Lagoa, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Antonio & Maria Isabel (Galego) Andrade. Arthur emigrated to Fall River in 1977, Graduated from UMASS Dartmouth (formerly SMU) in 1984 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Later that same year, he was hired by Raytheon Co., Portsmouth, RI, where he was employed for 31 years, his most recent position being Engineering Manager. An avid gardener, he also enjoyed photography, traveling and was passionate about various types of music, especially Fado. Besides his wife Goretti, Arthur is survived by his sons, Brandon M. Andrade, Nicholas A. Andrade and Wesley J. Andrade, all of Fall River; siblings, Jose Andrade (wife - Dalila) of Tiverton, RI, Judite Galego (husband - Manuel) of Fall River, Luisa Carvalho (husband - Norberto) of Tiverton, RI, Ana Rego (husband - Dinis) and Isabel Melo (husband - Edgardo), both of Rosario, Lagoa, St. Michael, Azores; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was also the loving owner of his late pet boxer, Zoe. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, September 24th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
