Arthur "Putchie" Methe, 75, of Fall River, passed away Saturday after a courageous battle with pulmonary disease. Husband of Shirley (Abdow) Methe for the past 51 years. Born in Fall River, son of the late Arthur Methe and Angelina (Mello) Mrozek and stepson of the late Stanley Mrozek. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he later worked for Hoyt Corp. for many years. He was a member of the Lebanon American Men's and Veterans' Societies. A sports enthusiast, he was an avid Yankees fan. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth "Mendy" and Mark Chrupcala of Westport and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His Funeral Mass was offered in St. Anthony of the Desert Church on Wednesday (9/2). Committal services with full military honors followed at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Pallbearers were Michael, Brian, Steve, Ed and David Abdow, Richard Capuano and Neil Massoud. Also in attendance was a delegation representing Carlton Viveiros School.
