Obituary

Arthur Nobrega, 96, of Somerset, passed away Wednesday after a short illness. Husband of the late Olivia (Leite) Nobrega. An Army veteran of WWII, he served under General Patton. Arthur worked at the former Fall River Knitting Mills for many years before becoming a maintenance worker with the Bristol County Court System. He also enjoyed his part time job working with the greyhounds at the former Raynham & Taunton Dog Tracks and was a member of the VFW in Tiverton and the oldest lifetime member of the Somerset Progressive Club. Beloved father of Maureen Helfenbein (husband-Bernard); grandfather of Jake and Shayna Helfenbein; great grandfather of Travis and Zachary; brother of the late Juliette Viveiros. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Following his cremation, a Memorial Mass was celebrated on Thursday, December 17th in St. John of God Church followed by military honors. His cremains along with those of his late wife were buried in their lot at Nathan Slade Cemetery.
