Arthur Pacheco, 81, of Somerset, husband of Janice M. (Cote) Pacheco, passed away Friday, Jan. 24th at Charlton Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Dighton, son of the late Joseph T. & Mary Stella (Domingos) Pacheco, he lived in Somerset for most of his life. Prior to his retirement some years ago, he was employed as a machinist/inspector for 18 years with Leesona, then later with PerkinElmer for several years. An Army veteran, he served honorably during the Korean Conflict. An Over the Hill Gang member, and avid animal lover, and had also enjoyed dancing. Besides his wife, he leaves: 2 daughters, Linda Card (husband Kenneth) of Johnston, RI, Dawn Greenway (husband James) of Ellijay, GA; a stepdaughter, Shanna Jennison (husband James) of Swansea; 4 siblings, Lawrence Pacheco (wife Millie) of Sebring FL, Priscilla Ferris of Taunton, Joseph Pacheco (wife Linda) of Madison ME, Irene Shutt of Trinity NC; 4 grandchildren, Felicia & Bethany Escobar, Kenneth Jr & Megan Card; a step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Vitullo; several nieces & nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, January 29, in St John of God Church followed by his committal with military honors at St Patrick Cemetery in Somerset.
