Arthur O. Sirois, Jr., 84, of Swansea, husband of Joyce (Pomprowicz) Sirois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023 in the comforts of his home following a long illness. Born in Fall River, but was raised and lived most of his life in Swansea, he was the son of the late Arthur O. Sirois, Sr., and the late Elizabeth (Kellman) Sirois.
Prior to retirement he worked for G.Lopes Construction out of Taunton and operated an 18 wheeler dump trailer for over thirty years. His handle was "Shadow" and before that he was an over the road trucker even owning his own truck at one time. A United States Veteran of the Airforce, he proudly served our Country working on planes during peacetime. He was an avid boater for years especially enjoying his trips to Block Island. He loved going on cruises and traveling. Most of all, he loved spending quality time with his family, including his German shepherd, "Bear" and his cat, Punky", and his extended family (the Pomprowicz clan) He also enjoyed cooking, and crabbing and kayaking on their dock on the Coles River. "Back in the day" he enjoyed his job as a volunteer for Swansea ambulance calls and was Fire Captain of Station 3 in Ocean Grove for many years.
Besides his loving wife of thirty-nine years, he leaves his children, Lori A. Grillo and her husband, Paul, of Swansea, Michael G. Sirois and his wife, Cathy, of New Hampshire, Tami J. Sirois Gerereux of Wisconsin, and his stepson, Richard J. Hamm, Jr. and his wife, Sarah, of Connecticut; his eight grandchildren, Aaron, Ethan, Michael, Melissa, Sara, Katy, Sophie, and Owen; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Jane Sinclair and her husband, David, of Arizona; one niece, Karen Maudsley of Texas; son-in-law of the late Stanley and Dorothy Pomprowicz; He was also the former husband of Nancy Cullen.
There will be a Celebration of his Life on Memorial Day Weekend on the family's waterfront property. His funeral arrangements were private.
