Aureliana M. Travassos, 87, of Fall River, wife of the late Manuel Travassos, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Southpointe Nursing Home following a long illness. Born in Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Medeiros and the late Luisa (do Espirito Santo) Medeiros.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a seamstress in the local textile industry for many years. She traveled extensively to such places as Florida, Canada, and back to her homeland in Portugal. Aureliana also enjoyed going on cruises, trips to the casino, and long rides throughout New England.

She leaves her loving children, Goretti Pavao (late husband, Jose)of Fall River, Luisa Pereira (late husband, John) of Dartmouth, Fatima Pereira and her husband, Rui, of Fall River, Maria dos Anjos Carreiro of Westport, Mario Travassos and his wife, Maria, Manuel Travassos and his wife, Ana, both of Fall River, and Fernando Travassos and his wife, Tammy, of Somerset; her sister, Escolastica Correira and her husband, Luis, of Dartmouth; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Leonilde, Conceicao, Noemia, and Ilda.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, August 8th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
