Avelina J. Pereira formerly Garcia, 67, formerly of Eagle St. passed away Sunday at Sarah Brayton Nursing Center. Born on the island of Faial in the Azores, she worked at Quaker Fabrics for many years. Survivors include her 4 children, Raymond, Edward (wife-Kim), Aurelia and Carlos Garcia (wife-Patricia); 4 grandchildren, Kalene, Natasha, Alex and Nicholas; a sister, Maria Pereira; a brother, Silvino Pereira and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, May 11, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St Patrick Cemetery.
