Balbina Soares Botelho, 80, a resident of the Fall River Jewish Home, formerly of the Essex St. Apartments, died Wednesday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Manuel Lima Botelho. Born in Sao Vicente, Sao Miguel, Azores, daughter of the late Luis and Maria da Luz (Melo) da Costa Soares. A seamstress by trade, she had worked for several years at the former Bristol Knitting Mills. She was mother of Luis M. Botelho of Sao Miguel, Raul S. Botelho of No. Dartmouth and Ana DaSilva of Newport, RI; sister of Manuel and Luis Soares both of Fall River. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass, celebrated by Father Edward Correia, was offered on Monday (12/10) in St. Michael Church. Committal services followed at St. Patrick Cemetery. Pallbearers were Valadia Medeiros, Victor Medeiros, Mario Raposo, Tony Tavares, Gary Chavier and Luis Soares.
