Barbara R. Travassos, also known as "Big Grammy" and "Mrs. T", of Fall River and wife of the late Edmond "Palooka" "Mr. T" Travassos, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughter, Susan, and her son-in-law, "Kel", on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 in the comforts of her home after a long illness. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Alfred A. Santos and the late Rose (Pimentel) Santos.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a Nurse's Aide for many years, retiring from the Laundry Department at Brockton Veterans Administration Hospital. She loved to travel and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Her favorite Red Sox player was Rafael Devers. Barbara also enjoyed attending many Special Olympics events as well as The Community Connections Pasta Dinners. But most notably, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished the time she spent with all her family.

She leaves: her daughters, Susan Kelly and her husband, Bob, and Christine Deslauriers and her husband, Raymond, both of Fall River; her seven grandchildren, Christopher Travassos, Julia Turner, Alex Travassos, Heather Smith, Sneaker Landry, Eric Kelly, and Amy Deslauriers; twenty great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Wayne Travassos and grandmother of the late Tofi Travassos.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, May 17th, in Holy Name Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
