Obituary

Beatrice (Sousa) Pacheco of Somerset, Massachusetts, died Sunday, April 26th, at 98 years of age. She was the widow of Manuel L. Pacheco, to whom she was married for 61 years.
Mrs. Pacheco was born March 12, 1917, in Fall River, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Francisco and Angelina (Paulo) Sousa.
She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who was a shining example of her solid Catholic faith to all. She was grateful to have visited the Holy Land with her husband and son. She had a passion for prayer and a strong devotion to Our Lady, saying multiple rosaries each day. She was a member of Saint John of God Church in Somerset, since moving to Somerset from Fall River many years ago. While living at an assisted care facility, the highlight of her day was attending daily mass there. She loved being with her family and friends and was always quick to bring a smile to everyone she met. She was a true lady with a big heart, always elegant and full of caring for others. She had many friends as people gravitated to this woman of virtue. She was truly a reflection of God's love to all. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Mary Viveiros, and her beloved special needs son, Albert Pacheco, whom she lovingly cared for and treated as a blessing from God. Surviving family members include her son, Antone Pacheco and his wife, Carol, of Westport, Massachusetts, nine grandchildren; Theresa and Mac Almeida of Somerset, Donna and Gregory Gibson of Southbury, Connecticut, Linda and Patrick Murphy of Somerset, Camilo Viveiros, Jr. of Somerset, Michael and Katherine Viveiros of Bristol, Rhode Island, TJ Pacheco of Westport, Massachusetts, Cary Pacheco of Westport, Tonya Park of Connecticut and Shawnte Pacheco of San Francisco, California, her son-in-law Camilo Viveiros, Sr., fifteen great-grandchildren; Jason, Brian and Camille Almeida, Kennedy, Courtney and Nathan Gibson, Kelly and Caitlin Murphy, Michael, Jr. and Nicholas Viveiros, Courtney Pacheco, Amanda Morin, Brittany Pacheco, Katherine Norris and Cary Pacheco, Jr., four great-great grandchildren; Irene Almeida, Shane Cartin, Jayse Morin and Laedyn Norris, and several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, May 1st, in St. John of God Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
