As I sat beside you, I could see the pain in your eyes.
You tried to speak, but all that came out were soft cries.
I whispered that I love you, it's okay, we will be alright.
Then I looked up and said, take away her pain, let her rest peacefully tonight.
Although you were weak, and any movement made you cry.
You still found the strength to squeeze my hand when I said goodbye.
Many thoughts going through my mind, but I don't know where to begin.
How do I express what I'm feeling when my words are hidden deep within?
Please know that I love you and you will forever be in my heart.
Your love will always surround me, and because of that we will never be apart.
