Brandon De
Faria
d. Jul 12, 2022
Brandon De Faria, 40, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Fall River, he was a son of Lucy (Sousa) De Faria and the late Eleuterio (Teddy) De Faria.
A 2001 graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Brandon worked in the construction industry for over 15 years. He started his first company, Alpha Omega Power Washing, at a young age. Employed for a number of years with Pride Roofing as a roofing specialist, he also worked as a real estate agent with Anjos Realty. An avid fisherman, Brandon was a self-employed commercial fisherman under the business name of Salty Dog Fishing. Recently, he successfully completed his testing to become a firefighter. Brandon was certified in both sky diving and scuba diving, and was a licensed Master Captain with the United States Coast Guard. An amateur boxer in his younger days, Brandon was a golden gloves finalist. Brandon was a member of the Don Carlos Social Club where he celebrated many events with family and friends.
He possessed an unparalleled empathy to care for people in his life as if they were his family and, most importantly, to do what he loved most: helping people. To say Brandon was the life of the party would be an understatement. He was beloved by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him, from his radiating smile and beautiful green eyes to his contagious laugh. He has an amazing soul like no other in this world, a soul that will never fade away. His comical character would turn around anyone's bad day. His sense of humor, sassiness, and sometimes rude remarks would have you rolling on the floor trying to catch a breath. He was generous to a fault, had the kindest of hearts, but always told you the truth, even if it was not what you wanted to hear. Brandon had his very own fan base some of whom remembered him as "Spider." There is not a person that Brandon met that he did not make a personal connection with. His entourage of friends could easily fill the stands of Gillette Stadium. They came from all walks of life, from his childhood years to his last days. He considered each friend an extension of his family. He made sure to make everyone feel welcomed and accepted no matter whom they were.
Brandon lived and breathed for his family. His family was everything and more to him. Unbreakable bonds are what Brandon had with his family. Brandon and his sister Rachael were as thick as thieves and best friends. His special bond he had with his sister is a treasure that will never be replaced. Brandon and Andrew shared a relationship that was like father/son rather than big/little brother. While their relationship mixed like oil and vinegar at times, the love they felt for each other allowed them to overcome any situation they were ever in. Some of their best memories came from the many places they have traveled together. He will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving him, in addition to his mother, are: his son, Brennan De Faria, and Brennan's mother, Lauren Wulff; two siblings, Rachael DeFaria and Andrew DeFaria; his granddaughter, Serenity De Faria; nieces and nephews, Dominick DaSilva, Christian Corga, Liliana Castillo, Madisyn, Andrew II & Olivia DeFaria; godchildren, Jayden, Lincoln & Chance Montgomery; and girlfriend, Tanya DeSousa. He was the grandson of the late Silvestre Amaral Sousa and the late Maria (Salome-Borges) Sousa, and the late Idaletro and Laura (Cabral) DeFaria. Brandon is also survived by anyone who ever met him, as he loved so generously from his heart and soul. Through the love he gave all of us, his spirit will live on forever.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, July 21st, in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St Patrick Cemetery both in Fall River.
