Cacilda
Dasilva
d. Mar 10, 2026
Cacilda (Costa) DaSilva, 82, wife of Jose DaSilva, of Fall River, passed away peacefully, on Monday, March 10, 2026, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jardelina Viveiros.
Cacilda was known for her generous heart and the way she was always willing to help anyone who needed it. She found great joy in caring for those around her, and she was deeply loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She enjoyed listening to music, especially the songs of Julio Iglesias, and she loved cooking and bringing her big family together for Sunday dinners. Some of her happiest moments were spent going out to eat with family or taking Sunday drives to get ice cream. Cacilda also loved cheering on her grandchildren at their sport games, always the biggest cheerleader. Her faith was an important part of her daily life, and she faithfully prayed and watched Mass each day. On warm days, she enjoyed sitting outside on her porch, taking in the fresh air. She cherished visiting her homeland whenever she could, as it always held a special place in her heart. Above all, the greatest joy and light of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she helped raise and loved deeply.
She leaves her children: Jose Henrique Silva and his wife Goretti, of Westport, Maria Fatima Sarmento and her husband Antonio, of Fall River, Ana Margarida Mello and her husband Paul, of Fall River, Eduardo Jorge DaSilva and his fiancé Helena, of Fall River, and Steve DaSilva and his wife Jennifer, of East Freetown; sister, Angela Viveiros, of Lisbon, Portugal; grandchildren: Kelly Silva, Jessica Tran, Jonathan Silva, Ashley Sarmento, Chad DaSilva, Nicole Belanger, Victoria Mello, Matthew Mello, Alicia DaSilva, Sophia Mello, and Alexander DaSilva; Great-Grandchildren: Averylyn, Vera, Julian, Madeline, Benjamin, and Bennett; and several nieces and nephews. Cacilda was predeceased by her son Paul DaSilva and her siblings Mario Jorge Viveiros and Lina Viveiros.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Visitation to be held in Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, Fall River, on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 8:00 am to 9:30 am.
