Carlos Lopes De Almeida, 93, of Purchase St. passed away Sunday after a short illness. Husband of the late Urania De Almeida. Born in Viseu, Portugal, son of the late Antonio and Augusta Lopes. A state police officer in Portugal, he worked for several years at the former Shelburne Shirt Company. Beloved father of Augusta Pelletier, Antonio Lopes, Urania Silva and the late Carlos Lopes. Carlos also leaves 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebratedon Friday, May 9, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
