Carlos M. Goncalves, 67, of Somerset, husband of Olaria (Arruda) Goncalves, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 26, 2019. Born in Sao Braz, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Sebastiao and Brazelina (Moniz) Labeta. Prior to his retirement he worked as a landscaper for many years. An avid Benfica fan, Carlos also loved gardening, fishing, and his daily espressos. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to his homeland and Florida. Besides his wife of forty-one  years, he leaves: his children, Brenda A. Goncalves and her companion, Alexis Pereira, Brian A. Goncalves and his companion, Brittany Bulhoes, and Joshua A. Goncalves and his companion, Ashley Rodriguez, all of Somerset; his grandson, Alex Goncalves; sisters, Filomena Sousa and her husband, Claudio, of Fall River, Maria Gabriella Medeiros and her husband, Antonio, of Swansea, and Aldina Labeta and her companion, Avalino Paiva, of Fall River; a brother, Mario Labeta and his wife, Lisa, of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, August 30th, in St. Michael Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
