Carlos M. Sousa, 62, of Fall River, husband of Maria "Connie" (Medeiros) Sousa, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 after a short illness. Born in Ponta Delgada, St Michael, Azores, son of the late Jose & M. Gilda (Medeiros) Sousa, he served in the Portuguese Army as a military nurse in the late 1960s, and emigrated to Fall River in 1974. Prior to his recent retirement, he was employed in the local textile industry for many years and also worked a security job part time. Besides his wife, survivors include: a daughter, Nicole Sousa of Fall River; 2 siblings, Fatima Dias (husband-Joe) & Victor Sousa both of Fall River; brother-in-law, Carlos Barbosa (wife-Maria) of Fall River; several nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St Anthony of Padua Church. Cremation arrangements were private.
