Obituary

Carlos Alberto Medeiros, 68, of Fall River, husband of Maria Miquelina (Mendes) Medeiros, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2024 in the comforts of his home following a long illness. Born in Santa Clara, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Antonio Medeiros and the late Irene (Oliveira) Medeiros.

A very hard-worker, he was a much valued and appreciated employee of Aetna Bridge Company and worked there as a foreman for over thirty years, a job he truly loved and enjoyed. He loved fishing, gardening, trips to the casino, his scratch tickets, and, in his younger years, dancing. He also enjoyed going on cruises and traveling to such places as Lisbon, Madeira, Brazil, and Florida. He was a "jack of all trades", and was always willing and eager to help his children with their home projects. But most important to Carlos was family and spending quality time with all of them.

Besides his devoted wife of forty-six years, he leaves his loving sons, Peter Medeiros and his wife, Kelly, of Dartmouth, and Dennis Medeiros and his wife, Heather, of Fall River; his five grandchildren, Chloe Medeiros, Isabella Medeiros, Devin Medeiros, Drew Medeiros, and Dalton Medeiros; one sister, Luisa Carrelas and her husband, Marcelino, of Westport; his brother-in-law, Manuel Sousa of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Antonio Pavao, Duarte Pavao, Paula Sousa, and the master of his late dog, Mia, who brought him an abundance of joy and comfort over the years.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, April 17th, in Espírito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
