Carlos C. Oliveira, 95, of Somerset and husband of the late Branca (Gamboa Pacheco) Oliveira, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Clifton Rehabilitation Nursing Center after a long illness. Born in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel , Azores, he a son of the late John da Costa Oliveira and the late Maria dos Anjos (Domingues) Costa.
Before immigrating to the United States in 1970, he resided in Malanje, Angola, Africa, where he worked as an accountant for the Aires Santos Pinto Company and was an amateur radio operator for many years. Since 1970, he was a resident of Somerset and prior to retirement, he worked for Swank Inc. in Taunton, MA for twenty-five years. Carlos was an avid photographer, writer, artist, and loved watching soccer and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by: his daughter, Ana Paula DeJesus and her husband, John, and his son, Roy Carlos Oliveira and his wife, Laurie, both of Somerset; his four grandchildren, Eric Aguiar, Nicole Centracchio, Alexa DeJesus, and Mallory Oliveira; four great-grandchildren, Julliana Centracchio, Colton Centracchio, Mila Centracchio, and Albert Joseph McGannon; his sister, Otilia Oliveira of the Azores; two sisters-in-law, Mariana Coutinho and Aida Pacheco, both of Somerset; and many nieces and nephews.
His private funeral was held on Thursday, September 16th with a funeral mass in St. John of God Church followed by his committal and burial at St. Patrick Cemetery both in Somerset.
