Carol David Nunes, 79, of Westport, companion of Joyce Arruda, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Carol C. Nunes and the late Diana (Pavao) Nunes.

An insulator by trade, he was a member of Local 31 Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers of Providence, RI, for many years. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and was a member of the Harley Owners Group. He was also a member of the Minuteman Chapter of Dartmouth, MA. Carol served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force at the start of the Vietnam Era.

Besides his companion, he is survived by: four children, David Nunes (wife Lynn) of Fall River, Nancy Sullivan (husband Michael) of Fall River, Linda Silvia (husband Richard) of Fall River, and John Nunes-Sylvia (husband Frank) of Taunton; a sister, Judith Mendoza of Westport; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was also the grandfather of the late Jonathan Gosselin.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, June 25th, at Holy Name Church in Fall River followed by his committal with military honors at Beech Grove Cemetery in Westport.
