Catherine J. Camara, 97, of Fall River, widow of James Camara, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019, at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Somerset, a daughter of the late Manuel Cordeiro and the late Theresa (Ferreira) Cordeiro, she resided in Fall River for most of her life.

She enjoyed dancing, crocheting, playing cards, and Bingo; but her passion was her family. Catherine is survived by: seven children, Theresa Nunes (deceased husband George) of Somerset, Linda Casey of Fall River, Donna Camara of Fall River, James Camara, Jr. (wife Judith) of Fall River, Darleen Camara of Fall River, John Camara of Fall River, and Christopher Camara of Fall River; two siblings, John Cordeiro of Naples, FL, and Constance Louis of Dighton; eleven grandchildren, Karen Ganem, George Nunes, Deneen Chasse, Joseph Nunes, Scott Casey, Melanie Camara, Jennifer Casey, James Camara, Lauren Camara, Cory Camara, and Christopher Camara;  five great grandchildren, Lindsay Ganem, Brendan Ganem, Ashley Nunes, Megan Nunes, and Ava Casey; one great, great granddaughter, Aubrey; and many nieces & nephews. She was also a sister of the late: Mary Pacheco, Laura Souza, Anne Medeiros, Lena Lewis, Gilda Silvia, Evangeline Cordeiro, Daniel Cordeiro, Joseph Cordeiro, and James Cordeiro.

Her Funeral Service was held on Thursday, May 23rd, in our Somerset Chapel followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Somerset.
