Obituary

Cecelia (Vieira) Machado, 92, of Fall River, wife of the late Arthur Machado and the late Louis Vieira, passed away peacefully on Monday at the Catholic Memorial Home. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary E. (Rego) Medeiros. Prior to her retirement she was a seamstress in the local textile industry for many years. She loved to dance, walk, and read. Cecelia also enjoyed traveling to such places as Florida and the Azores. She leaves: her sons, David T. Vieira and his wife Janet of Tiverton and Louis T. Vieira and his companion Susan Foster of Somerset; two grandchildren, Kristin and Nicholas Vieira; two great-grandchildren, Brantley and Adalyn Vieira; brothers, Joseph Medeiros (wife Delores), James Medeiros (wife Nancy), of Fall River, Lewis Medeiros (wife Jacqueline) of New Jersey, and George Medeiros (wife Pamela) of Wilmington, Massachusetts; sisters, Mary Lamothe (husband Maurice) of R.I., and Beverly Weston (husband John) of Tennesse.; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Irene Lowney, Delfina Starkey, Diamentina Hiland, Deolinda Wulterkens, Maria Medeiros, Pauline Perry, and Hilda Levesque. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 19th, in St. Patrick Church, Somerset, followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River. The family of Cecelia extends their gratitude for the wonderful care that was provided by the staff in Unit 5 at Catholic Memorial.
