Cecily P. Arruda, 35, of Dartmouth, fiancé of Glen Gonzalez, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of Clement Arruda, Jr. and Suzanne F. (Mercier) Arruda.

She worked for the City of Fall River School Department as a Paraprofessional for many years, a job she truly loved. An avid reader, she also enjoyed participating in the Little Theater of Fall River. She was kind, selfless, and a devout Catholic who lived her life helping others. Most notably, Cecily loved her family dearly and was a loyal and dedicated caregiver of her Vo Vo.

Besides her Mom and Dad, she leaves her loving grandmothers, Odilia Arruda (late husband, Clement Arruda) and Lucille Mercier (late husband, George Mercier); her four aunts, Paula Arruda and Louise MacDonald, both of Dartmouth, Diane Sholan of Vermont, and Jean Jennings of Rhode Island.

Following a private cremation, Cecily's Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, May 10th at Saint George Church in Westport. Her cremains were later buried in her family's lot at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
