Celeste I. Fernandes, 88, of Fall River, passed away Monday at Catholic Memorial Home. Born in Quinta Grande, Madeira, daughter of the late Antonio and Luisa Fernandes. In Madeira, she was a long time and valued employee of the Reid's Palace Hotel. She is survived by a half-sister, Maria Abreu, a sister-in-law, Edalete Fernandes, and many nieces, nephews and cousins both here and in Madeira. Celeste was also mother of the late Maria Conceicao Fernandes and sister of the late Antonio, Isaias, Fernando, Eugenio and Lurdes Fernandes and Madalena Gomes. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, September 25th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
