Celeste Oliveira, 84, of Fall River, widow of Manuel H. "Cobby" Oliveira, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Southpointe Rehabilitaion Center. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Antonio Joaquin and the late Amelia (Farinha) Joaquin, she was a Class of 1951 graduate of BMC Durfee High School.

Employed in the domestic relations department at the Bristol County Probate Court in Taunton, she had also worked for many years as an administrative assistant at the former Continental Screw Company in New Bedford. As a youngster she helped out at her father's bakery, called Lucky Loaf, formerly of Rodman Street.

Celeste enjoyed traveling with Cobby and her daughter's family (including trips to Portugal on numerous occasion), dancing with Cobby, as well as cooking and baking – but she especially loved her grandchildren. She is survived by: a daughter, Celine Rice (husband David) of Middletown, RI; two grandchildren, Gunnar Rice and Morgan Rice both of Middletown, RI; a brother, Edward Joaquin; and several nieces & nephews. She was also the sister of the late Mario Joaquin. A heartfelt thank you to her care givers, Valentina, Teresa, and Zulmira for their loving care, patience and understanding. With special thanks to the staff of Bristol Elders, Riverview Day Care, and Active Day, who were paramount in assisting with this long and difficult journey.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, May 5th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
