Charles G. Arruda, 86, of Somerset, husband of the late Shirley (Camara) Arruda, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Born in Fall River, son of the late Francisco Arruda and the late Josephine (Pacheco) Arruda, he was employed at N.E. Power for many years, retiring in 1997.

An avid runner, he participated in many road races and was a constant fixture moving along the streets of Somerset and surrounding towns. A boxer in his younger days, he was a Golden Gloves champion. Charles also enjoyed gardening. But mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was the father of Jennifer Arruda-Comiskey (husband Juan DeLeon) of Somerset; grandfather of Kayla Arruda & Connor Comiskey; brother of John "Bob" Arruda of Portsmouth, and the late Genevieve Sousa, Mary Botelho, Manuel & Gabriella Arruda; uncle of Nancy Nary Arruda and the late Joanne Bouchard (husband Brian).

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, July 10th, in St. John of God Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
