Charles Joseph Hodkinson Sr. (Charlie) of Fall River entered into eternal life surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 6, 2010. He was the husband of Mary Mitchell Hodkinson. He was born in Fall River the son of Delia (Warrener)& Harold J. Hodkinson Sr.

Charles was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and received his bachelors degree from St. Charles College and St. Mary's Seminary in Maryland. He studied at Notre Dame University where he received a masters degree. Charlie received the Gold Medal for scholastic achievement in eighth grade from St. Peter and Paul's Grammar School, Fall River. A member of the Knights of Columbus in South Bend Indiana, he received the Toast Masters award of the year. Charlie was also a member of the Legion of Mary and in 2001 received the Marian Medal from Cardinal O'Malley. Charles was a member of Holy Name Parish for 42 years where he served as collector and was also a daily communicant.
He owned General Sheet Metal and Hodkinson Heating Companies and recently formed Duct Doctor Air Duct Cleaning with his son Peter J.

He is survived by four sons, Atty Edward Hodkinson, Charles J. Hodkinson Jr., Peter Hodkinson, of Fall River, and Dr. William Hodkinson of Boston. Charles has one surviving daughter Ann Margaret Hodkinson, a 5th year medical student at Trinity College Dublin, and the late Kathleen Ann Hodkinson. He was the brother of George Hodkinson, Mary Janick, Isabelle MacDonald, and the late Harold Hodkinson Jr., James Hodkinson, Eleanor Bottomley, and Marian McGreavy. He had 33 nieces and nephews. Charlie will be dearly missed.

His Mass was celebrated in Holy Name Church. Entombment was at Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
