Cidalia R.
Reis
d. Sep 21, 2024
Cidalia R. Reis, 53, wife of Leonardo "Lenny" Reis, passed away peacefully in the comforts of her home on Saturday, September 21, 2024 following a long illness. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose Raposo and the late Margarida (Resendes) Raposo.
Prior to her retirement, due to her illness, she worked at Somerset Ridge Nursing Home as an Activities Coordinator for many years, a job she truly loved and enjoyed. She loved singing, shopping, decorating her home for the seasons, and traveling throughout the New England area. A true "fashionista" always impeccably dressed, she was also a very confident and spiritual woman who possessed an incredible desire and eagerness to help anyone in need. A lover of Christ and dedicated to her faith, Cidalia was a devout Christian with longstanding ties to St Anthony of Padua Church and St. John of God Church in Somerset where she graciously volunteered for many activities and events over the years. Most notably, Cidalia's first priority was that of being a Mom and spending quality time with all of her family.
Besides her loving husband of thirty-five years, she leaves her children, Andrea Collins and her husband, Edward "Joe", of Dighton, and Leonardo "Leo" Reis, Jr. of Lowell; her two precious grandchildren, Benjamin Reis Collins and Nora Grace Collins; her siblings, Filomena Soares and her husband, Antonio, of St. Michael, Azores, Jose Luis Raposo and his wife, Gila, Luis Manuel Raposo, and Marina Cidade and her husband, Jerry, all of Toronto, Canada; and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 26th, at St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery both in Fall River.
Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support. If you were unable to do so, because of health concerns or any other reason, all are urged to express their sympathy online or by mail. To ensure that said condolences and/or sympathy cards reach the family, please always make sure that submissions online are made directly through the funeral home's website (www.silvafaria.com) and not through a third party. Thank you!
