Cindy Arruda, 50, of Fall River, wife of Joao F. Arruda, passed away peacefully at St. Anne's Hospital on Sunday, January 7, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Capelas, St.Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of Maria (DoRego) Correia and the late Manuel Correia. She was a very hard worker who also loved cooking, baking, and crocheting, particularly scarves for cancer patients at St. Anne's Hospital. A devout Catholic, she enjoyed her many trips to La Salette Shrine in Attleboro. Cindy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who found her greatest joy in family. Besides her husband of thirty-two years, she leaves: her three children, Jeffrey John Arruda and his wife Ashley, Michael Manuel Arruda, and Samantha Arruda, all of Fall River; a granddaughter, Kourtniee Arruda; brothers, John Correia and his wife Elvira, Joe Correia and his wife Veronica, of Fall River; a sister, Ana Braga and her husband Roberto of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, January 11th, in Good Shepherd Parish Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
