Cisaltina "Sally" Gomes, 91, formerly of New Bedford, passed away Tuesday after a lengthy illness. Widow of Alexandre G. Gomes. Born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Joao and Virginia Freitas; mother of Father John A. Gomes of Taunton and Angela Rothera (husband-James) of Auburn; grandmother of Bernard Ryan (wife-Pamela), Brendan Ryan (wife-Karryn) and the late Kristin Tessier; sister of Fernando Freitas and Delta Ferreira. She also leaves 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated by her son at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Saturday, December 15, along with Bishop George Coleman and many of his fellow priests. Her burial with her late husband in their family lot at St. John's Cemetery in New Bedford was private.
