Cizaltine Bacon, 95, of Fall River, formerly of Somerset, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late John L. Bacon. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Rezendes and the late Maria (Pimental) Rezendes.
Prior to her retirement, she was a Detention Attendant for the Fall River Police Department for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, knitting, sewing, watching the birds from her deck, and cooking and baking, leaving behind many of her famous recipes for which she will always be remembered. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family whom she loved so very much.
She leaves: her loving daughters, Geraldine Manchester (late husband, Martin) of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and Jacqueline Roberts (John "Jake") of Somerset; two grandchildren, Lisa Tengco (Michael) of Texas, Cristin Monestime (Frantz "Paco") of Fall River. She also had six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Garcia and Adelaide Medeiros; two brothers, Manuel Rezendes and Raymond Rezendes; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the grandmother of the late David Roberts (Joanne) and sister of the late Amelia Miranda, Mary Medeiros, Olivia Galego, Martina Silva, and Angelina Justa.
Due to the COVID pandemic, Her Private Funeral was held on Wednesday, February 10th, with a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas More Church in Somerset followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support.
