Clara Rego, 94, of Somerset, formerly of Fall River, wife of the late Victor M. Rego, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Clifton Rehabilitation Center, where she resided for the past seven years. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Vicencia (Arruda) Alves. As a homemaker, she loved cooking, baking, sewing, and crocheting. She also enjoyed listening to country music, going on cruises, and traveling, especially with her girls, to such places as Florida, Nashville, Canada, Missouri, Hawaii, and Myrtle Beach. A devout Catholic, Clara was also a member of the St. Annes  Fellowship. But most importantly, she was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who so very much loved her family. She leaves: her children, Judith Teves and her husband, Durval, and Shirley Puccio and her long-time companion, David Miguel, of Swansea, Paula Belanger and her husband, Ronald, of Westport, Robert P. Rego and his wife, Annette, and Stephen Rego, of Fall River; seventeen grandchildren, Gary Moniz, Christie Tavares, Jennifer Rhoda, Jonathan Rego, Aubrey Latessa, Keith Rego, Richard "Buddy" Rego, Stephen Puccio, Jeremy Puccio, Holly Rosario, Heather Rego, Stephen Rego, Ashley Waddicor, Marcus Belanger, Kevin Teves, Elizabeth Carreiro, and Nancy Dodd; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Richard Rego, grandmother of the late Eddy Moniz and Jamey Puccio, and sister of the late Manuel Alves, Arthur Alves, Mary Souza, and Irene Ferreira. Clara's family extends their utmost gratitude to the staff at Clifton for the wonderful care their mother received. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, March 23rd, in Espírito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
