Claudia B. Carreiro, 71, of North Dartmouth, wife of the late Joao Carreiro, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born in Ribeira Quente, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose Bernardo and the late Conceicao (Lima) Bernardo.
Prior to her retirement she worked as a sewing machine operator in the local textile industry for many years. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, and watching her Portuguese soap operas. She also enjoyed going out for breakfast, going on cruises, visiting her homeland in the Azores, and eagerly helping with Holy Ghost events. Most important to Claudia was spending quality time with all of her family, especially her grandchildren.
She leaves behind her long-time companion, Antonio Botelho, her loving children, Tome Carreiro and his wife, Jennifer, of Somerset, John Carreiro of Dartmouth, Michelle Carreiro and her fiancé, Johnny Pina, of New Bedford, and Jessica Carreiro and her wife, Billie, of Ohio; her eight grandchildren, Shaun Vieira, Jonathan Carreiro, Noah Carreiro, Luke Carreiro, Kendra Carreiro, Kelsey Frankovich, Tiago Vieira, and Kaleigh Frankovich; her sisters, Celeste Reis and her husband, Manuel, of Fall River, and Vinnie Tabicas and her husband, Joseph, of Dartmouth; sister-in-law, Alda Lima of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Manuel Lima and the late Paul Bernardo.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 21st, at St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Oak Grove Cemetery both in Fall River.
