Cleveland M. Panell, 82, of Fall River, formerly of Beattie St., passed away on April 18, 2009 at Crawford Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was the husband of Maria Gloria (Macri) Panell, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, son of the late Cecil and Katie (Hicks) Panell. A Fall River resident since 1945, he worked at United Merchants for 30 years as a textile printer. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy, and was a recipient of the WWII Victory Medal, The Asiatic Pacific 3 Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. Survivors include sons, Michael Panell and his wife Blanche of Tiverton, RI and Richard Panell and his wife Janet of Somerset; a brother, Thomas Panell of Ocala, FL; a sisters, Velma Carvalho of Spring Hill, FL and Shirley Alascano of Prescott, AZ; grandchildren, Christopher, Jason, Timothy and Derek Panell and Andrea Quinn; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass was celebrated in Holy Rosary Church. Pallbearers Chris, Jason and Tim Panell and Keith Quinn brought Cleve to his final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
