Clotilde (Sousa) Machado, 84, of Fall River, died Friday, November 14, 2008 at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Widow of Albano Machado. Born in St. Miguel Azores, daughter of the late Joao & Lidia (Bernardo) Sousa, she immigrated to Fall River with her family in 1977. She is survived by her children Zelia Ferreira, Maria Conceicao Botelho, Gilberta Damaso, Cecilia Crespo, Natalia Crespo, Fatima Ponte, Ines Ponte & Miguel Machado, sisters Diamantina Barboza, Adelaide Ferreira, as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. She will be remembered for her special talents of baking, knitting and folk singing. She will be greatly missed. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in Santo Christo Church. Pallbearers Jaime, Luis and Steve Botelho, Joshua Machado, Brian Ponte and Joe Crespo brought Clotilde to her final resting place at Notre Dame Cemetery.
