Conceicao (Araujo) Cabral, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, following an illness. She was the widow of Francisco Cabral. Born in the village of Relva, on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, she was daughter of the late Francisco Araujo and the late Carolina (Augusto) Araujo. After residing in the Azores for fifty one years, she moved to Fall River in 1972 and was naturalized as a citizen of the United States. Conceicao enjoyed playing cards and bingo in the company of her family, and often sang for them as well. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Surviving family members include her son, Jose M. Cabral and his wife Conceicao, a daughter-in-law, Maria Cabral, and son-in-law Victor Fagundo all of Fall River, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Joao M. Cabral and the late Maria Isabel Fagundo, and sister of the late Joao M. Araujo. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 28, in St Anthony of Padua Church, followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
