Conceicao Sousa, 89, of Canton, formerly of Fall River, wife of the late Jose Sousa, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 in Hellenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canton, Massachusetts. Born in the city of Angra do Heroísmo Terceira, Azores, the daughter of the late Dimongos Medeiros Simao, and the late Maria (Sousa) Medeiros. She worked in the textile industry as a machine operator for many years, and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was an avid magazine reader, an Elvis Fan, and a daily connoisseur of Dunkin Donuts Coffee. She enjoyed watching Portuguese telenovelas, sewing, knitting, gardening and loved to break out in Portuguese songs, to cheer up those around her. Mrs. Sousa always dressed nicely and took pride in embellishing her outfits with jewelry and perfume. She always put the needs of others before her own, and will be dearly missed by all of those she leaves behind. She leaves: a brother, Joao Medeiros and his wife Margarida and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edmund Medeiros and Artur Medeiros. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, June 14th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
