Daniel C. Medeiros, 89, of Fall River, husband of the late Maria J. (Benevides) Medeiros, died Sunday 5/8/11 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after an illness. Born in Arrifes, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Joao Souza Medeiros & Maria Luz (Coute) Medeiros, he emigrated to Fall River in 1970. He worked for R.I. Nurseries for many years, retiring in 1986. Survivors include: 5 children, Maria Goretti Ventura (husband Angelo) & Peter Medeiros (wife Connie) both of Tiverton, John Medeiros (wife Mary-Jo) & Ana Araujo (husband John) both of Fall River, and Mariazinha Raposo (husband Jorge) of Montreal, Canada; a sister, Agustinha Raposo of Toronto, Canada; 11 grandchildren, Shana, Craig, John Jr, Jessica, Veronica, Monica, Raquel, Alex, Lucas, Matthew & Dylan; 2 great grandchildren, Marcus & Austin; several nieces & nephews. He was also brother of the late Joao, Urselina, Lurdes, Maria, Angelina & Luiza. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, May 12, in Holy Trinity Parish Church followed by her committal at St Patrick Cemetery.
