Daniel P. Medeiros, 89, of Fall River, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Wednesday. He was the husband of Dolores (Medeiros) Medeiros, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Fall River, son of the late Francisco and Iria (Souza) Medeiros. A WWII Veteran of the US Navy, he was a repair service manager for the Fall River DPW and a highly valued and loyal employee of Silva-Faria Funeral Homes in Fall River and Somerset as well as Silva Funeral Home in Taunton. Daniel was a member of the Young Nationals, The Retired Fall River Municipal Employees Association and The Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association of Massachusetts. He enjoyed golfing and played in the Silva Family's Portuguese Open Golf Tournament for many years. Known for his kind spirit and sense of humor, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was the loving father of Ann Marie Medeiros of Fall River, Maryellen Cordeiro (husband - Brian) of Assonet and Kathleen Marks (husband - David) of Swansea; brother of Leonard Medeiros (wife - Delores) of Fall River, Frank Medeiros of Hamilton, MA, Noema Raposo (late husband – Michael), Ida Rioux (husband - Donald) and Lydia Calise (husband - Joseph), all of Fall River; grandfather of Eliza Daniel Marks, Ava Jordan Marks and Liam Francisco Marks. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, December 9th, in Holy Name Church followed by his committal with military honors at St. Patrick Cemetery.
